Smith and Sons | Arms & Militaria
WELCOME

This web page is dedicated to the memory of Gregory Norman Holtham who died of cancer on 30 August 2017. Greg was a collector of bayonets, fighting knives, machetes and general militaria for over 40 years. His knowledge on world bayonets was broad and in his later years he gained wide-ranging knowledge of Japanese bayonets. Greg’s collection is extensive and a webpage dedicated to selling his collection will offer the bayonet collecting fraternity around the world many rare and exquisite pieces. This webpage will also act as a research site for collectors in that sold pieces will remain listed in a separate section. Photos of part of Greg’s collection are detailed below. On viewing these photographs, you will gain an appreciation that the listing of Greg’s items was undertaken over several months/years. As of 2025 Greg’s collection has all been sold.

Whilst I have started this webpage in memory of Greg, I have been a bayonet collector myself in excess of three decades, specialising in British and Commonwealth bayonets. In addition to collecting bayonets I have a small antique firearms collection and various other pieces of general militaria. Now retired and with the advent of advancing years I feel its about time to relinquish many pieces of my own. This website is not a business and I will not be buying collections or individual pieces but then again, I could be tempted if a piece surfaces that has eluded me over the years. My interests in militaria grew with membership of The Western Australia Arms & Armour Society (Inc.) that began in the 1980s to where I am now a Life member and a past President from 2015 until 2022. I only hope I can help collectors and researchers by what is offered on my website. Many of the sold items are listed under the “SOLD” tab on the main menu. Thank you for visiting my website and I hope you enjoy Greg’s and my collecting hobby as much as we did over so many years.
Kind regards
Geoff
